I've been using SmartVoip SIP-phone since one month. Generally it works fine. Good speech quality and cheap. Whether SmartVoip the cheapest one or best one is, depends on.
Because one first need to pay 19 Euro(including fee) to purchase 15 Euro credit, before you can use cheap rates, and the bought credits are only valid for 90 days.That means, you have to pay 76 Euro for the whole year for this service! It's only worth if you realy have a lot of calls.I'm calling mainly to China. The rates are not really free. For landline to China SmartVoip charged 0.005 Euro/min. after certain calling time. For mobile phone it costs 0.01 Euro/min after few minutes of usage. There is no rule when and how SmartVoip charges. – That's my experience.
Occasionally when I make a mobile call to Europe, I hear the ring and the credit is been deducted, but the called person doesn't receive any ring. Maybe it's just exception of technical problem.
