We recently talked about sites and various ISPs blocking the VOIP in UAE. Today we will talk about Actiondial, a new player in the VOIP market in UAE. It seems to be a good solution for the blocking problem in UAE. Actiondial is a new UAE based VOIP Provider. The company, Actiondial seems to be offering a secure VPN based VOIP solution that enables you to make cheap international calls.
Etislat and many other ISP’s in UAE region have always been against the usage of VOIP. The usage of VOIP compels many users to switch to VPN based VOIP. Some players in the UAE market such as Hotspotshield and Kongshare may work for some users but the services provided these players are still not reliable for many. I believe Actiondial.com has the same thought while designing this new VOIP solution.
As per the information that I have received, Actiondial is offering the rate of 1.5 cents per minute to make a call to India. Unfortunately for many users, the calling rates page of Actiondial is only available for the registered users of the Website. So, to be able to check the rates, you first need to register yourself. The advertisements of the company have the call rate of 2.5 cents per minute for making calls to India. However, at the present moment, the company is running a promotional campaign that allows the users to make calls to India at the rate of 1.5 cents per minute. I am not sure about how long the promotional campaign will last.
Currently, the company is offering two options to overcome the UAE VOIP Block. First one is Actiondial Broadband 2 Port Voice Gateway. To avail the benefits of the plan, you must have bought over $500 worth of calling credit. Only then the company offers you this device for free. The device contains Plug and play and a built-in VPN and it is ideal for blocked environments. The second option is Actiondial VPN Dialer-SIP Softphone. This softphone is a free SIP based softphone dialer that has a built-in VPN. This may help you overcome your issues while you are using it in UAE.
If you want to test the services, the easiest option is by using the VPN dialer provided by the company. In any case, one must consider a few things before finally signing up for the services of Actiondail. The company seems more like a reseller or a spin-off service that is using the betamax as backbone. Most likely, the company builds off actionvoip platform. Actiovoip is not a betamax service, it is only based in UAE. (I am unable to disclose the name of the person for certain security reasons.) There are no security settings available on the Website. However, when you ping sip.actiondial.com, you do get a response.

It is always advisable to go slow when purchasing credits. One must only buy a few dollars and test the VOIP services before going all out to buy more.

Actiondial is fishy!!! Tried to buy calling credit from the reseller and he does not have any legit payment methods available to buy calling credit. Checked with the company itself and they donot sell calling credits directly. Lot of fishy stinky business… be careful when dealing with actiondial !!!
